Bharatpur Bird SanctuaryThe Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a beautiful escape amidst the natural beauty. It is a perfect spot for a day outing and was initially built with the objective to protect the city from flood water. Today, the park houses of over 350 species of birds apart from a wide range of reptiles. It acquired the World Heritage status in the year 1985 which added to its popularity.

Government MuseumLocated inside the Lohagarh Fort, the Government Museum of Bharatpur perfectly exhibits artifacts from the ruling times of Maharaja Balwant Singh. The beautiful museum also houses a public library. The diverse compilation of sculptures, inscriptions, coins, arms and weapons and decorative art objects of the museum are worth exploring.

Deeg FortThe Deeg Fort was built by Raga Suraj Mal, and stands high with great pride. Nestling with impressive moats, armpits and gateways, Deeg Fort creates a magic with its intricate interiors which are almost in ruins now. However, the watch tower of the fort still stands high, offering great views of the city.

Iron FortAlso known as the Lohagarh Fort, the Iron Fort has stood strong against many British attacks. It’s the ambience of the Fort that reflects strength and magnificence. The fort is surrounded by moat which used to be filled with water to keep the enemy at bay. Some of the must see attractions of the fort include Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas and Kothi Khas.
