One of the less explored hill stations in India, Auli is located in the northern state of Uttarakhand. Attractions

Auli Artificial Lake is one of the major attractions here. Built with a view of creating perennial ski slopes, the Lake serves as a perfect picnic spot. The sight of the lake looming large at the base of the mountains like Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers is truly majestic and royal.

Joshimath is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, and is one of the best cities that are in close proximity to almost all of the Auli tourist places. Also known as Jyotirmath, this small town is the beginning point of many Himalayan expeditions, including the ropeway to Auli, and the trekking trail to Badrinath.

Chenab Lake situated near Dang village of the pilgrim town is another popular attraction here. A Crystalline Lake, the Chenab Lake offers a breathtaking view. The Chenab valley trek is one of the lesser known trekking trails of the Gharwali Himalayas.

Another major attraction here is the Kwani Bugyal. Often called the trekker’s heaven, Kwani Bugyal is a famous tourist attraction and is known for its pristine views of various snow-capped peaks. This isn’t a tough trek; and you can hire porters, cooks, camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, sheets, etc.) and guides for convenience.

Gurso Bugyal is another popular attraction here. For those seeking offbeat options must visit this place. A short but adventurous trek of 3km here passes through the valleys between the mountains of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Dron. The views of these majestic mountains while walking along the nature trails is truly majestic!

Best time to visit Auli
The best season to visit Auli is all throughout the year. Tourist attraction in Auli is Snow Skiing and is best during November to March. May to November offers cool and pleasant climate and the right period to spend relaxing moments in the outdoors. December to February is snow bound and chilly.

By Air – The nearest airport to Auli is Jolly Grant airport of Dehradun.
By Train – The nearest railway station to Auli is Haridwar railway station. Dehradun and Rishikesh railway stations are also considered as the nearest railway heads to Auli.
By Road – Joshimath is well-connected from the major cities of Uttarakhand such as Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar.
