The temple is considered as the earliest known Panchayat Temple of North India, and was built by the Gupta Empire.
The Barehipani and Joranda Falls are also among the popular attractions of the place. The two picturesque and popular waterfalls are located in the heart of the Simlipal National park, and is an ideal spot for family picnics and honeymoon getaways.

Recently developed by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand, the two Eco Parks namely “Amber” and “Dhara” are also a major attraction here. The Eco Park houses protected patch of small forest containing Deodar Trees. Mussoorie Forest Department is also running Eco-huts for the tourists to enjoy serene landscapes of Dhanaulti.
One of the famous forts here is the Deogarh Fort, built in the 16th century near Pratapgarh. The fort is one of the 52 garhs of 52 forts of Uttarakhand, comprising of ornament palaces and artistic Jain temples. The fort is also counted among the must visit spots here.

Among other major attraction is the Matatila Dam that serves as a popular picnic spot located amidst the hills of Dhanaulti. This place offers panoramic views and opportunity to enjoy various water sports activities. Housing numerous Jain Temples situated inside the Kanali Fort of Dhanaulti Hills, the region serves as the Jain centre.
